Duncan Young, CEO
Duncan has had an interesting career including stints as a naval meteorology officer, a business consultant, and an executive at Scholastic, Inc. where he led a national team focused on teacher professional development and school improvement. In high school Duncan had the chance to attend two different leadership forums, and also visited Appalachia twice as part of a service project. Each of these experiences helped him form a vision of his future of wanting to lead while also making an impact. Duncan has a BS from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Andrew Potter, Chief Academic Officer
As our most degreed Senior Executive Team Member, Andrew directs Envision’s academic strategy and oversees the development of our faculty, curriculum, and teaching methods so we can provide learning experiences that help our students get ready for college and a career. Andrew is widely recognized as a thought leader on education, and he holds a delegate position with the National Council for the Social Studies (NCSS). Andrew has worked to develop state-level advocacy platforms in the U.S. in support of college, career, and civic readiness, while also designing programming to support U.S. K-12 college and career readiness mandates. Andrew taught at the university and high school level for over a decade. He holds a BA in History, an MA in Ancient Mediterranean Civilizations with a minor in Modern Europe from Cal State University, and an MA in Near Eastern and Judaic Studies from Brandeis University, while completing additional work in Semitic Languages at the University of Judaism in Los Angeles.
Charmaine Stafford, EVP of Customer Service
After beginning her career as a business consultant, Charmaine attended Harvard Business School, where she was bitten by the “hospitality bug” and decided to it her career focus. She spent eight years at Starwood in multiple roles, leading teams as small as five and as large as 400, and overseeing budgets as large as $600M. She has worked at the corporate level, overseeing brand standards for Starwood as their Director of Operations, but also has extensive experience in the field, having served as General Manager for the W New York Times Square and the Sheraton Boston, and the Director of Operations for the W New York Union Square. Most recently, Charmaine has held a variety of executive roles, including Senior Vice President of Customer Experience, for CLEAR, the company that provides biometric and security screening services at airports around the country. She has a passion for education, and has spent 10+ years volunteering with Junior Achievement and Big Brothers/Big Sisters- it’s this passion for impacting student lives that has led her to join our team.
Matt Castrina, Senior Director, International Programs
Matt oversees the international and collegiate programs of Envision, including the International Scholar Laureate Program. Since 2003 he has developed and implemented programs for high-achieving middle school, high school, college, university, and continuing education students in Australia, Austria, China, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, India, New Zealand, South Africa and the United States. Prior to joining Envision, Matt worked for two years in the Czech Republic as an English teacher, a transformative experience which ignited his passion for international education. He is a graduate of La Salle University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Melissa Wadley, International Program Coordinator
Melissa has been studying and working with international education programs for over six years. She has worked with students and scholars from all over the world and in a variety perspectives: participant, recruiter, facilitator and evaluator. After teaching English in Japan for two years, Melissa earned her MA in International Education from The George Washington University in Washington, DC. Since then she has worked with scholars from China, Brazil, Tajikistan, Peru, and Turkey, to name a few. In addition, she has travelled to China, Switzerland, Poland, Israel, and a few countries in Latin America.
